Volt Premium Taxi Celebrates One Year on the Market with Over 150,000 Rides and an Electric Mobility Strategy Sofia, April 2025 – Premium taxi service Volt Premium Taxi celebrates its first anniversary with impressive results and ambitious plans for the future. Over the past 12 months, the company has completed more than 150,000 rides, served over 60,000 registered users and 400 corporate clients, and covered more than 1 million kilometers in total. Founded with a vision to set a new standard in urban mobility, Volt operates a fleet of 32 premium BMW 5 Series vehicles, supplied by M Car Sofia and financed by UniCredit Leasing – strategic partners in building the fleet. “We built Volt around the idea of a high-quality experience, one that begins the moment a ride is booked and continues through to the end of the journey. We believe that in the premium segment, there can be no compromises – not in service, not in technology, and not in driver selection,” shares Ognyan Popov, co-founder and managing director of the company. Currently, more than 60 drivers are part of the Volt team – most of whom do not come from the taxi sector but have chosen the company as a new career path. Each one goes through a strict selection process, including interviews, full-day test driving with an inspector, and training in ethics, behavior, and vehicle care. “Our drivers are the face of Volt – and that shows. They’re not just drivers; they deliver the experience of having a personal chauffeur. We take pride in the high standards we set and monitor every day,” adds Yuliyan Mavrodiev, co-founder and Chief Operating Officer, responsible for the fleet and driver team. At the core of Volt’s philosophy is not only comfort but also maximum passenger safety. Every vehicle is equipped with high-quality cameras that record road activity, as well as GPS tracking systems that allow constant monitoring of routes, speed, and driver behavior. Built-in alerts signal speeding or other irregular driving behavior, ensuring peace of mind for both clients and the operations team. This technological standard, combined with the human touch of the drivers, creates a premium experience with a strong focus on safety. Volt is now announcing its next step – full electrification of the fleet. By the end of the year, 30 more electric vehicles will be added, with the first Mercedes EQEs arriving in a matter of days – the first of this high-end Mercedes model to be used in the taxi sector in Bulgaria. In addition to its taxi services in the capital, Volt is also successfully developing premium group transfers using Mercedes V-Class and Sprinter minivans and minibuses – preferred by corporate clients for events, conferences, and visiting delegations, and sometimes even for weddings and celebrations. The company is backed by prominent Bulgarian investors such as Velizar Velichkov, Presiyan Karakostov, and Kristiyan Demirev, all of whom have appeared on the cover of Forbes Bulgaria – a testament to Volt’s long-term vision and business sustainability.
